jacob t. carlin, ph.d.

I am a Research Scientist at The University of Oklahoma’s Cooperative Institute for Severe and High-Impact Weather Research and Operations (CIWRO) working in support of NOAA’s National Severe Storms Laboratory‘s Radar Research and Development Division.

My research centers around combining dual-polarization radar and numerical weather prediction models to study precipitation microphysics, nowcast severe storms and wintertime precipitation, and improve and validate numerical weather prediction models through polarimetric data assimilation and forward operators.
